Ecole Thematique FieldEpiGen

25-29/6/2018 - Your Hosts:
  • Ronaldo Augusto, Postdoc researcher at UPVD, working on the development of a very sensitive method to study chromatin profiles for the FUGI Consortium (Wellcome Trust Strategic Award).

  • Celine Cosseau, maître de conferences at UPVD, pioneered work on epigenetics in a wide range of non-model organisms (especially mollusc species) and has a strong experience in diverse epigenetic techniques (BS-Seq, ChIP-Seq, ATAC-Seq).

  • Patrice David, CNRS evolutionary biologist studies the evolution of mating systems and community eco-evolutionary dynamics through experimental, molecular, field, and theoretical approaches. He teaches quantitative genetics and has a strong interest in epigenetics.

  • Christoph Grunau, Professor for Epigenetics at UPVD, scientific head of the RTP “Epigenetics in Ecology and Evolution”, pioneered work on bisulfite sequencing and works currently on chromatin profiling from ultra-low input material

  • Etienne Danchin, CNRS Emeritus Research Director, expert in nongenetic inheritance including epigenetic and cultural inheritance. He recently proposed an original mechanism of genetic assimilation as a major component of the long sought inclusive evolutionary synthesis. In terms of data acquisition, he mainly works with insect models.

  • Marie Mirouze, IRD scientist, expert in epigenetic control of transposable elements in plants. She developed mobilome-seq, a NGS strategy to identify actively jumping transposable elements in plant and animal samples. She is now using Nanopore long read sequencing to characterize structural variants and genomic stability.

  • Oliver Rey, Associate professor at UPVD, whose research mainly focus on adaptive processes and the underlying molecular mechanisms in natural populations combining field work, experimental biology, genetics and more recently epigenetics.

  • Koen Verhoeven, Senior scientist at the Netherlands Institute of Ecology (Wageningen, Netherlands). Works on epigenetic inheritance in ecological systems and non-model plant species, especially asexual plant lineages. Coordinator of the Marie Curie research and training network ‘EpiDiverse’ on ecological plant epigenetics.

  • Jeremie Vidal-Dupiol, Researcher in genomics and epigenomics at Ifremer. Scientific head of the theme “host adaptability” in the MIMM team (IHPE laboratory). Past work in epigenetics and intragenerationnal adaption to environmental changes, currently interested in population epigenomics.
